Alyssa Keedy
Policy Analyst, Office of Governor Earl Ray Tomblin
Graduation Year: 2013

What has your MPA degree contributed to your professional career?
My MPA degree prepared me to work as a Policy Analyst for Governor Earl Ray Tomblin’s Office. The classes, professional development opportunities, as well as experience I gained from the program helped to further develop my analytical, critical thinking, research and writing skills.

What advice would you give to incoming students or students thinking about coming to WVU Master of Public Administration program?
The MPA program provides one with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the professional world. This program is well respected throughout both the public and private sectors and gives students the opportunity to network with alumni, government, business, and many other organizations. The WVU Master of Public Administration program opened my eyes to the rewards of being a public servant. I would not have my current position, doing something I love and making a difference, without it.

What makes you most proud of being a WVU MPA graduate?
I am most proud of graduating from a well-respected program that provided me with the opportunity to not only make a difference but also understand my role in public service.
