Current Students

Students in the M.P.A. program reflect a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, undergraduate majors, and geographical locations. This blend of students enriches the educational process. Individuals contribute to and benefit from the range of perspectives and backgrounds represented.

About 125 students are enrolled in the M.P.A. program; about 70 are full-time. All classes are seminar size, about twenty-five students each. Approximately half of the student body is composed of practitioners; some part-time, some on leave, and some preparing for job advancement. Over one-half of the enrollment in past years has been composed of women. Although the majority of students received their undergraduate degrees from WVU, a great variety of undergraduate schools is represented. In addition, there is a wide diversity in undergraduate majors, although political science is the most common.
