Prospective Students

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program admits the best applicants on a competitive basis. Admission materials are reviewed for evidence of ability to pursue graduate work, and admission decisions are based on an assessment of experience; verbal, quantitative, and analytical ability; community contributions; and accomplishments of the applicant.

The Division of Public Administration has developed two general categories for student candidates—the pre-service MPA student and the professional (on in-service) MPA student. These two categories generally recognize different levels of professional development and recognize the different experiences and strengths of each. In addition, the Division has developed guidelines for international students.

We invite prospective students to browse the links at the left and the top of the page to learn more about the Division and the MPA program. Please feel free to contact the Division should you have any questions, or if you would like more information.

Prospective students may also want to check out the Go Public Service website to learn more about public service degrees and careers.
