At the start of the year the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a Washington DC think tank, announced a student competition to imagine the long-term impacts of the ballooning federal deficit and debt. Students across the country were encouraged to submit (up to) 2-minute videos or 10 page narratives. The Master of Public Administration's budget students worked in teams to submit entries, which included social media mock-ups, including an Instagram influencer and a "talking" cat, an overheard conversation at a coffee shop, a short story and graphic novel, a song, and a horror movie trailer. One team took third place and a $500 cash prize with their entry, entitled Humans of the Debt, watch the video here
